Fumigation & Pest control
We make sure your goods cross borders clean.
Fumigation is a mandatory step for most international shipments leaving Bali. Before your cargo reaches any border, we treat it with certified fumigants to eliminate parasites, insects, and larvae — including termites hiding inside wooden furniture, structural elements, or packing materials.
We use two types of treatment: Sulfur or Methyl Bromide.
Sulfur is our standard method and covers the large majority of destinations. Methyl Bromide is a stronger treatment required by countries with stricter biosecurity rules — Australia is one example.
Phytosanitary certificate
In addition to fumigation, many countries require a phytosanitary certificate, an official document issued by Indonesia’s plant protection authority confirming your shipment is free from regulated pests. This is separate from the fumigation certificate itself, and some destinations require both.
Countries that typically require one include:
- Canada
- China
- European Union (thatch imports)
- Fiji
- India
- Malaysia (thatch imports require 128 g/m³ treatment)
- Mauritius
- Morocco
- New Zealand (requires 80 g/m³ treatment)
- Réunion Island (wooden bungalows, gazebos, decking, flooring, partitions, stairs)
- South Africa
- Brazil, Argentina, Chile and most South American destinations
- Thailand (wood or botanical elements)
- United Kingdom (bamboo)
- USA
- Vanuatu
Requirements vary by commodity type and can change. Not sure whether your shipment needs one? Get in touch, and we’ll check for you.
Wood packaging certification (ISPM 15)
For fragile or oversized goods, we can pack in wooden crates — particularly useful for LCL shipments. But wooden packaging used in international trade comes with its own compliance requirements.
The FAO established ISPM 15 — the International Standards for Phytosanitary Measures — to prevent invasive pests from spreading through wooden packaging across borders. Any wood used for packing must be treated, then inspected and stamped by an accredited external body before it can ship.
Our wooden packaging meets the standard in full. After treatment, it passes third-party inspection and carries the official ISPM 15 stamp.
To qualify, the wood must:
- have a moisture content below 19%,
- be completely free of bark,
- contain no live insects, worms, or larvae.
